About Andhra Pradesh Police (AP Police) –
The Andhra Pradesh Police is the law enforcement agency for the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. AP Police comes under direct control of the Department of Home Affairs, Government of Andhra Pradesh. After the state split into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, in 2014, the police forces also had split up.
The Andhra Pradesh Police is headed by the Director General of Police (DGP).
Andhra Pradesh Police (AP Police) Recruitment Board –
The Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board came into existence with effect from 10th September 1985, headed in the rank of Inspector General of Police and designated as Chairman.
State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), (SLPRB) plans and implements effective recruitment procedures and makes timely recruitments of all the direct recruitment of non – gazetted posts in the Police Department. It includes the posts of:
- Station Fire Officers & Firemen in the A.P. Fire & Emergency Services Department;
- Sub-Inspectors & Constables in Special Protection Force,
- Deputy Jailor,
- Asst. Matron & Warder (Male/Female) in the Prisons Department.
- It also includes the posts of Addl. Public Prosecutors, Grade-II & Asst. Public Prosecutors in A.P. State Prosecution Services.
