The Indian Space Research Organisation sometimes also called as ISRO, is the space agency of the Indian Government. It is headquartered in the city of Bangalore. ISRO works with a vision to harness the space technology for national development and advancement, while also pursuing the space science research and planetary exploration.
ISRO is directed by the Department of Space (DoS) of the Government of India. DoS itself falls under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister & the Space Commission.

ABOUT SAC –
Space Applications Centre also known as SAC is one of the leading centres of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS).
SAC concentrates on the designing & development of space-borne instruments for terrestrial & planetary missions of ISRO. It operationalizes the space technologies for various applications related to the national developments. The applications cover navigation, communication, broadcasting, disaster monitoring, oceanography, meteorology, natural resources surveys, environmental monitoring, and planetary science studies.
SAC develops all the transponders for the GSAT, INSAT, and IRNSS series of Communication & Navigation satellites. It also produces the optical & microwave sensors for IRS & small satellite series of earth observation satellites.
Moreover, SAC has extremely advanced payload designs & integration laboratories and other facilities for electronic & mechanical fabrication along with environmental tests and image processing & analysis. SAC library is also one of the exceptional libraries in this part of India.
SAC is also actively committed to imparting training for scientists & engineers from the Asia Pacific Region through various Post Graduate Diploma programmes of the UNCSSTEAP
ABOUT DECU –
The Development and Educational Communication Unit (DECU) has been a central unit of ISRO in various developmental applications of Satellite Communications.
DECU is mainly connected to the system definition, implementation, planning, and socio – economic research and evaluation of satellite – based societal applications.
The unit has been working in the areas of Satellite Broadcasting, Tele – Medicine, Interactive Training, Satcom Networks Deployment, Tele-Education, Content Generation and Social Research etc
