Union Public Service Commission (UPSC ) Mains Examination Pattern 2018

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will soon hold the Civil Services Mines Exam (UPSC Mains Examination). Examinations of UPSC Mains will begin on September 28. Starting on September 28, the test will run till October 7. The examination (UPSC Exam) will be held in two shifts every day. Candidates’ Admit Card (UPSC Admit Card) will be issued soon.

The exam time is near In such a situation, candidates should make their preparation faster. Let us know that the UPSC had issued a pre-examination result (UPSC Prelims Exam Result) in the month of July. About 3 lakh candidates were sitting in the UPSC Pre-examination. The UPSC Prelims Exam 2018 was held on June 3 this year. Candidates will have to give 9 papers.

Qualifying Papers

Paper A: One of the Indian languages included in the Constitution must be selected.
Marks: 300

Paper B: English Comprehension and Essence Writing
Marks: 300

Ranking Papers

Paper 1: Essay Paper.
Marks: 250

Paper 2: General Studies 1 (History and Geography of Indian Culture and Heritage)
Marks: 250

Paper 3: General Studies 2 (Governance, Constitution, State-order, Social Justice and International Relations)
Marks: 250

Paper 4: General Studies 3 (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Safety and Disaster Management)
Marks: 250

Paper 5: General Studies Paper 4 (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude)
Marks: 250

Paper 6: Optional Subject 1
Marks: 250

Paper 7: Optional Subject 2
Marks: 250

The written examination will be a total of 1750 marks. Candidates who pass the Men’s Examination will be called for interview. The interview will total 275 points. Combined with written and interview, a total of 2025 marks will be exams. The ranking of candidates is based on a score of 2025 points. The candidates are allotted the posts based on their ranking and priorities.
